For maximum safety, the stem is designed with a Deirin AFS (used with Lubetal seats) or Poly Ether Ether Ketone (used with High-per Fill seats) thrust bearing, and inserted through the ball cavity unit, resting against a shoulder in the valve body. A second reinforced TFE seal, above the body shoulder, is held in place by a follower, two Belleville washers and an adjusting nut. High-per Fill seated valves also include a PEEK stem seal protector over the stem seal. Simple, in-line stem seal adjustments keep washers flexed, automatically compensating for normal wear as well as seal expansion and contraction from temperature fluctuations. Standard thermal vent hole in ball relieves any thermal expansion within the cavity when valve is open.

Two-way flow is regulated by downstream sealing against patented, resilient seats, resulting in bubble-tight shut-off throughout a life-time of service. Resiliency is designed-in. During each cycle, self-wiping action keeps the seat and ball clean ... and the closure, leak-tight.

Patented* slots in the seats relieve pressure past the up- stream seat, keeping it from being forced against the ball. The result? Less friction, lower operating torque, less seal wear and longer service life. Relief slots also permit higher pressure differential than possible with double-sealing valves in which there is sealing between both seats and the ball.
