The 505-15 series level transmitters are economically priced HART Smart continuous level transmitters designed to measure all liquid and light slurry applications that do not leave a significant coating build-up on the sensor. Calibration and configuration are easily accomplished through a simple, 4 step, menu driven display/keypad. There is no need for “other” test equipment, handheld configurators, or meters. If the HART Model 275 or PC based software is available, this transmitter will allow the same full featured configuration as our premium 509-75 (Universal III^TM ) Series systems. Typical applications include water in wells, sumps, storage vessels, chemicals and liquid interface measurements.

The 508-45 ( Universal II™ )series transmitters are all purpose analog output continuous transmitters designed to measure the level of liquids, granulars, slurries, and liquid/liquid interfaces. Measurements are independent of density and these transmitters have Coteshield™ circuitry to enable the transmitter to ignore the presence of buildups on the sensor. The output is 4-20 mA proportional to level. For smart transmitter versions see 509-75 and 509-55 series below.

The 509-55 series is a Honeywell protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle the same applications as the 508-45 series but provide the benefits of a smart transmitter. These benefits include the ability to calibrate from anywhere in the loop(even the control room); calibrate using any two known points, (no need to empty and fill the tank); and to have the output strapped in volume units such as gallons in a horizontal vessel. The 509-55 series can be calibrated with the standard Honeywell SFC3 hand held calibrator from a laptop PC. The output can be switched between the R100/200 and DE protocols; it is licensed and approved by Honeywell and is fully compatible with the TDC3000.

The 509-85 (True Level III ™) series is a HART™ protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle all homogenous liquids where the material properties change over time. The 509-85 needs no calibration no matter how the material properties change. As a smart HART protocol transmitter it has all the benefits found in our other smart transmitters. The 509-85 series can be calibrated with standard hand held calibrators such as the Rosemount 268, 275 or from a laptop PC. A Device Description (DD) is available for the model 275 calibrator.
